Getting to know us!
As a very young child growing up, I have fond memories of helping my mother with all of her crafting. Weekends were often spent working a local arts and crafts show or flea market. As long as I can remember, my mom has always been so talented and creative. Even though she was working a full-time job as a waitress in our family restaurant, she still always made time to use her talent and determination to make extra money to support our family.Fast forward ahead several years to 2009 and you would find myself, my mother, my aunt and some friends around the kitchen table on a normal Sunday afternoon. At the time I was a Scentsy consultant and had begun working some arts and craft shows in my spare time of working full time as a dental hygienist. We all began talking about what if my mother started her crafting back and worked these shows with me. So Polka Dots and Paislees was born! We began small, working from my mom's kitchen table with nothing more than a cricut cutting machine and one sewing machine. We worked late nights and traveled within several hours' radius working shows, sold items out of her house and in our family restaurant. Word of mouth traveled fast, and it wasn’t long until we outgrew her kitchen and our original idea of doing what we enjoyed making some extra money. We first opened the doors to our retail location on March 15, 2010. Expanding to not only offer hand made goods but other items as well. We have watched our passion grow into full time work for the both of us. To this day, we still own our family restaurant as well. We have been blessed with wonderful businesses and customers. Growing up there taught me what hard work and great customer service would return. Today we have several employees and have branched out into a much larger space. However, even though we no longer always work around that kitchen table, the value, quality and work ethic developed over the years runs true to us as we continue to grow. We look forward to the opportunity to share our passion with you. I want to thank you for taking the time to check out all of our hard work.
